Practice
The artist’s current work is rooted in panel painting, drawing inspiration from traditional techniques used in historical iconography. She incorporates her own glazing methods, which give the paintings a refined sense of perspective that is an integral part of each work and references the principles of medieval painting. The preparation of the surface, as well as the handling of light and color, contributes to the overall mosaic of her artistic approach.

Exhibition Blueprints
Can we wrap reality in the everyday life, build it on solid foundations, or face it head-on? In Helena Ticháčková’s work, there is never just one blueprint. Plans, designs, and geometric structures that link seemingly human figures with familiar buildings and everyday objects form a layered play of relationships through which the artist models the world around us. The calm, the suppressed emotions of human puppets, and unspoken or written messages reference religious icons, which also tell their stories through symbols. It is up to us to choose which blueprint to follow, because there is never just one.
